█ ABOUT █
WAYZ was first introduced to the Drum & Bass scene from the early Jungle days. Initially a keen RnB / Hip Hop listener he strived for a more energetic and progressive style of music. Keen to progress with the music Wayz developed an interest for mixing from hearing the likes of Kool FM & Rude FM and was shown the ropes from a close friend. His mixing talent developed and was later afore mentioned on Mixmag magazine during a talent showcase on Kool FM.

From that point Wayz played at various venues across London, Playing both RnB / Hop Hop and D&B gigs, Camden Palace, SW1, Leisure Lounge and The End to name but a few. Taking time out to study Digital Arts at University, Wayz began to develop projects that involved strong reference to D&B, from this point music production was inevitable. Since then Wayz has concentrated on production and continued to develop a fast paced dance floor orientated style. Always striving for progression and quality and looking to be part of and contributing to the scenes ever changing sounds.

Wayz has been featured on Drum and bass Arenas podcast which caught the attention of Breakbeat Kaoss DJ Fresh, in turn leading to the subsequent signing of Beyond to the high profile Dogs on Acid label. His tracks have also been featured on; Knowledge Magazine, Radio1, 1xtra, BBC Asian network and now has play support from some of the scenes top DJs. Following a handful of successful releases WAYZ has decided to launch his own imprint, Steam Recordings, with good friend Sidius.

Steam Recordings, born out of the shared desire of WAYZ & Sidius to bring something new to the dancefloors of the world. A style to incorporate the energy and hooks of dancefloor Drum & Bass with the relentless, rolling tear out sound of techstep. A long time coming, but still ahead of the game. Steam Recordings has landed.

Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), a young man with a talent for auto mechanics, has led a life of getting into trouble. His monoparental mother has had to relocate to different cities with him every time his problems at school or with the local authorities escalated enough. One day, he gets into a street race against the school quarterback. Both end up at the police station, injured. The incident almost lands Sean in jail, and his mother, deciding not to deal with moving again, sends him to Tokyo to live with his father, stationed in Japan as a U.S. Naval officer. At private school in Tokyo, Sean meets Twinkie (Bow Wow), a fellow American, who hustles pre-owned goods to their Japanese classmates. Twinkie introduces Sean to the world of drift racing.

Sean soon runs into Takashi (Brian Tee), also known as DK (short for Drift King), and his close friend Han (Sung Kang), who was born and raised in America. Sean is seen by Takashi talking to Neela (Nathalie Kelley), Takashi’s girlfriend, and when Takashi tells him to back down, Sean challenges him to a race using Han’s car. Takashi wins, and Han’s car is ruined, so Han tells Sean that he must work for him to repay the car. Sean soon learns that Han is involved in a business partnership with Takashi.

Han becomes Sean’s friend, and takes him under his wing, teaching him how to drift, and providing him with some financial support. Sean slowly builds a reputation in the drift scene, and befriends Neela, who is also Sean’s classmate. She reveals that she, like Sean, was also considered an “outsider” once, not being native to Japan. She explains that she and Takashi grew up together after her mother died. However, after seeing Sean with Neela and learning of their time spent together, Takashi beats him and warns him to stay away from her. Angry after seeing Sean’s bruises, Neela angrily leaves Takashi, to be with Sean.

Gabriel & Dresden start off 2004 with a total of eight #1 Billboard Club Play Chart Remixes, a #11 UK Pop Chart Hit “As the Rush Comes” as members and producers of Motorcycle, and three Dance Star Award nominations for Best Producer, Best Single, and Best Break Through DJ. In addition, the duo is busy producing their debut mix CD, which will be released on Nettwerk Records this Spring.

Gabriel & Dresden met at the Winter Music Conference in 2001, when Josh Gabriel was giving out the white label of his first track “Wave 3″ and Dave Dresden was scouting new music for Pete Tong. Dresden loved the track, and two weeks later it got played on Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. Tong soon offered Dresden the opportunity to remix New Order’s track, “Someone Like You” and Gabriel was tapped to work on the remix.

Three years later the duo have produced 33 remixes, 2 original tracks, and have a world wide hit as Motorcycle with vocalist JES. Dresden also produces under the name Attention Deficit, and Gabriel writes and produces his own tracks, and has had two acclaimed singles as a producer and member of the group, Andain.

Both Gabriel and Dresden have been involved in music since they started their professional careers. Gabriel began writing and producing music after getting his first synthesizer in 1981. He eventually incorporated the computer into his music making with the addition of his trusty Mac Plus. Gabriel obtained a BFA degree in composition from California Institute of the Arts University and studied at the Institute of Sonology in Den Hague, The Netherlands. He then worked in various post-production studios, on projects for clients such as Sony, Disney, Sega and Oddworld.

Gabriel moved on to create Mixman® music software and acted as co-founder of the company Mixman Technologies Inc. for 8 years. Dresden’s impressive career includes DJing for the past 15 years, while holding various high profile music industry jobs such as writer for artist interviews and music reviews, and driving A&R for Promo Only. Dresden has compiled mix CD’s and compilations for several record labels, scouted for Pete Tong, has been a radio DJ and music director for both Internet and radio stations with a world wide listening base. The duo live and produce in San Francisco , California.
