Better audio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEdk8OHO0Rs&fmt=22

I had to undertake a quick editing project for my school. A group of kids are dancing to a piece of music called Palladio by Jenkins, and the choreographer lass needed a chunk to be hacked out of the music. I relish the idea of being considered a budding George Martin (or perhaps a budding Jon Astley!!) so I thought I would film the work. Having said that, I do apologise to Jenkins for butchering his work - however disguised the edit may be!

It took me about 35 mins in all, so the 8 mins or so I show here is minus a few experiments with different joins. The final piece is an edit whereby 1:10 is joined to 3:20, by means of a crossfade. The 2 regions were joined together via Logic’s “Merge” command. I think this is fascinating stuff, and obviously similar results can be achieved on a PC. Audacity is fast becoming a very fully featured piece of software (although I’m not sure if it has a crossfade tool), so that may be a viable alternative to Logic Express. LE is more of a music studio (someday I’ll show that) and is overkill if it is solely used for editing.

Enjoy!

Please watch in HD with Annotations on.

My Website: http://www.dillonpearce.com

Here is a behind the scenes look at the editing workflow that I use for editing my music videos. I have come up with a way of editing band music videos using multiclip in Final Cut Pro so you can watch and switch between the angles in real time. This makes editing the video more efficient and so that you can see all the angles together to find the best one to use.

Before editing I convert all my footage into ProRes 442 since this is a native file for Final Cut Pro and allows real time playback even with some effects on. Converting it would dramatically help when using multiclip since each of the video files will need to be playing at the same time and this format will help the multiclip run smoothly.

Groundbreaking Music Video:
I used 3×1000 watt photography lights http://tinyurl.com/4wc4awa as well as 1 work floodlight diffused using a 3-in-1 reflector diffuser. The music was played through my Logitech Computer Speakers hooked up to my phone. The camera was hooked up to my Macbook Pro which I used to monitor and control the camera (focus and start/stop recording) using Canon EOS Utility software. The kit 18-55mm lens for my Canon T2i was used.

I Love You I Hate You
The same lighting as groundbreaking was used as well as 2 more work floodlights. We hired out a place in Docklands called ’shed4′ and spent 8 hours filming there. I used my Canon T2i with primarily my 50mm f1.4 lens but for the whole band shots I used the 18-55mm kit lens. For the beach scenes we occasionally used reflectors with the gold tinted side. I used the jag35 X Runner shoulder support with the Monitor X.

If you have any questions about the filming or editing workflow I used please let me know and I will answer them when I read them.

Thanks for watching! Please rate & comment.

Please Read Important Info You May Want To Know!!!

Hi welcome to another Tutorial for Sony Vegas Pro 8 and Sony Vegas Pro 10.
Both functions and buttons are similar but for this tutorial i did it in 10.
I use both programs actually lol 10 i make the effectsand render and 8 i do the actual work. So really no difference other than 10 having a few more plugins and the keyframing is located in a new spot called animate.

In this Tutorial you will learn how I make audio adjustments to voices before using them in songs. how to change the audio into reverb and pitch shift.
both very fun effects i use for my amvs. how to make subtitles in case you need them for cases like this or making stories with different languages.

ExpressFx Reverb helps make the audio sound like a echo in a hallway very nice to use in many ways.
Pitch shift is just like it sounds changes the voice to either a dark scary voice or fast chipmunk sound. these help as well incase u want to use in trailers or change ur voice tones if u sound off key.

Also here you learn the few basics of audio editing.
Everything i know about this is here to view and learn i hope it helps in anyway.

Note: If you like you can submit a video response to this video showing what you created using this tutorial.
id like to see what youve made or just to show others what you did.
