Make sure you’re using the selection tool. There should be an button that looks like a capital letter I. Click that when you want to “select” a part to cut, paste onto, etc. Hopefully this still helps- 4 months later.

it can be used for …
it can be used for recording. but for recording, i find it easier to record raw instrument and voice tracks onto Kristal audio (it’s more user friendly) and then transfer the WAV files to audacity for final effects and editing/mixdown.
