Nokia E61 is the proud member of the latest E series launched by Nokia for the true professionals. It is the first smartphone by its manufacturer to have a QWERTY keyboard and a 320 x 240 pixel wide format screen. This Blackberry look alike scores well in all the three departments- hardware, software and features, and is sure to give all the other smartphones a run for their money.

This pocket computer comes loaded with approximately 52 applications, making this handset a favourite as it fufills the needs of almost all. The USP of the handset is its Office suite of applications, including a fully featured word processor, spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation editor. You can easily forget your laptop at home as the Nokia E61 features a separate “Screen Export” application, which pairs your device to a Bluetooth enabled projector. Making and editing presentations for office purposes can now be done easily through this smartphone, as you are on your way for your next meeting.

With Quad band GSM, GPRS and 3G data, Bluetooth, infrared, Wi-Fi, and the standard Nokia pop-port, the connectivity options in nokia E61 are immense. Quick and easy web browsing, GPS positioning software and Java applications are other outstanding features that makes Nokia E61 as popular as it is today.

With an outstanding music player and in-built flash memory of 64 MB (with a miniSD card expandable up to 1GB), the device is all set to give serious competition to the iPod Nano. In this business-centric smartphone, a camera is not at all missed. Nevertheless, the gallery application is made available in case you want to carry pictures of your loved ones on a business trip.

Nokia E61 has everything that one looks for in a PDA. It proves to be an ideal assistant, facilitating all your official work on the go. Get this one and rest assured, you will carry your own mini world with you, every time and everywhere.

Like no spyware or viruses etc.

64studio is a whole package of multi-media software. All free. Multi-track audio, dubbing with envelopes. Video and synth drums are just some of the available software. UbuntuStudio is another set of software which is a little more user-friendly as far as installation. I dual boot into 64studio because I run AMD64 cpu (but they also have 32-bit version for the more common 32-bit machines out there). Try ubuntustudio, at least look at the screenshots.

im really bored. deos anyone know where i can download free software where i an mix music or edit bits etc. thx

You can check out trakaxPC, which we’ve just recently released - it’s completely free (no trial/catches etc.)
http://www.trakax.com/software/pc/

It’s simple drag and drop technology, so perfect for beginners to experiment and have fun creating music, video and photo slideshow mixes without a steep learning curve. However, there are advanced features such as beat-matching etc., so you can find a level to suit your capabilities. You can cut samples, remix tracks, change tempos, create slideshows, create & edit videos, record in directly from your mic etc. Check out the site for a full range of reviews.

We also provide libraries of royalty-free loops & beats that will help you in creating new and unique tracks - they’re really cheap, so worth checking out:

Good Luck with the music, video and photo slideshow mixing!

Primarily to change the tempo for some of my music, I don’t want to use Audicity. Cheers.

I’m starting up my small business for post-production and am wondering if I should purchase a digital audio mixer. Would it help me to get better sound quality, or is Adobe Soundbooth (the sound software I have) good enough for what I need? Basically, would it be worth my money or should I spend that 3-5K elsewhere? Thanks for any help you can provide!

If you’re looking to raise your quality, a mixer isn’t a bad idea. You can grasp audio directly and master each track individually. It also helps give your audio a better sense of stereo.
I wouldn’t go out and spend 3-5K on a mixer… For video production, a simple small 4-8 XLR preamped mixer should do you just fine as long as you have an interface (if the mixer itself doesn’t have one). This way you can just plug in your mics and record each track at the same time. I bought mine (8 XLR preamp, 16 1/4" jacks) for a little over 200.
